American leaders took harsh tones today with Iran labelling thier routine mid-range missile test launches as "provocative" and of puposeful ill-timing to intimidate America and her "allies" in the region. However, this scenario laid out by such notables as White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to a US Senator who commented in childish naiivity that "Iran stole a play from North Korea's playbook," could not be farther from the truth.
Iran is currently a beseiged nation. Both of the neighboring countries to the east and to the west, Afghanistan and Iraq are occupied countries with what many of thier inhabitants and a majority in the Middle East believe is merely a puppet American government.
Meanwhile, a practical embargo against Iran is fast gaining support and is overshadowing any of Iran's genuine attempts to constructively reach out to western nations. If an international embargo of grand porportions as advertised is adopted, the economic sanctions will clearly hurt the Iranian people's standard of living and only work to solidify a tyrant's authoritarian grip.
To make matters worse, buzz of a secret Israeli and/or American strike and in particular the suggestion of a nuclear strike against Iran last year by such high American officials as Hillary Clinton foreshadow a dark future.
With war and chaos surrounding Iran, it is no surprise that just maybe they want to prepare to defend themselves against imperial aggression already engulfing their part of the world.
Claims that Iran is working to develop weapons of mass destruction is unfounded and research hardly holds conclusive evidence. Much like the Iraq War pitch in 2002 and 2003, the possiblity of finding nuclear weapons in Iran is extremely skim but like with Iraq, the military industrial-media complex will not die. In its ongoing campaign, all American virtues are discarded and trampled upon and the grave casualties of its misadventure are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. These innate rights are forever put on hold.
It is up to America, not Iran to decide the fate of the fabled Persian land. For with every spurn and spear of scorn forcefully thrown across the imperial American vessel's bow, peace becomes a less attainable goal and the very American cultural quilt of individual freedom and justice is desecrated and torn asunder, resigned to the dust bin of history.
Iran is no bitter enemy forever to be loathed for the 1979-1980 hostage crisis. Bot nations' smeared blemishes on each others' collective history. The CIA assassinated and replaced the democratically-elected reform minded President Mossadeq in 1953, putting the dictatorial and notoriously corrupt Shah back in power. He would rule with an iron fist until 1979 when Iranians were so enraged by his hypocrisy that some welcomed the Islamic Revolution.
There are no ulterior motvies to negotiate, nor are there any patterns nor protocols nor time tables on which to set principles and make major decisions in foreign affairs. It is rather a simple type of knowledge; to listen and converse with an open mind and an open heart. Solving international problems does not entail counting score. World leaders should instead focus on the goal of carving a more peaceful and hospitable future for the world's next children.
Simply put, Iran places no threat to the United States nor Israel nor any of its allies. Being so, America would be better off and more secure by championing trade between the two nations rather than expansive economic sanctions and waving the bloodied black flag of war.

Russia Steps Down Air Defense for Iran, Obama Extends Sanctions
According to CTK, Russia announced Tuesday that it will be not be deploying to Iran an airspace defense radar system, originally planned for Tehran after the announcement of the United States’ central European Missile Defense Shield.
Cautious in its steps toward détente, Russia through this conciliatory gesture has shown a willingness to negotiate, but only with a reasonable and clear-headed American policy in return. However, this news comes as an ever stranger and more obscure twist in the saga of Missile Defense and the 21st century continuation of the Cold War.
In comparison, President Barack Obama has acted as well this week in regards to Iran. Thursday, he extended Clinton-era sanctions against the country accusing it of being a “state sponsor of terror” and harboring disdainful sentiments toward the United States.
According to the AP, Obama said “"The actions and policies of the Government of Iran are contrary to the interests of the United States in the region and pose a continuing unusual and extraordinary threat". His rhetoric and stance on Iran strongly resembles that of President Bush, who also was a strong supporter of placing sanctions and trade embargoes on Iran.

Obama Wrote Medvedev Secret Letter, In Deal to Stave off Czech Radar, Iran
The New York Times reported last night that President Obama recently wrote Russian President Dimitri Medvedev asking for help combating Iran's nuclear ambitions, in return for an end to U.S. plans for a Missile Defense Shield in Central Europe. The United States has signed exclusive agreements with the governments of Czech Republic and Poland to place an anti nuclear missile radar in Czech Republic and 10 nuclear interceptor missiles in Poland. Russia has strongly opposed the plan and has repeatedly pleaded with the United States to stop the project. Over 2/3rds of Czech citizens still remain opposed to the radar installation.
Since 2007, Russia has engaged Tehran and even offered multi-million dollar foreign aid projects to help Iran obtain nuclear power. Iran maintains that they only seek a peaceful nuclear program for generating civilian power. However, since 2003, the American government has taken a hard line against Iran, accusing the country of being a "state sponsor of terror". Many experts believe officials in the U.S. worry about strong Iranian influence in the region for decades to come following two disastrous wars in bordering countries, Iraq and Afghanistan.
It remains unclear whether President Obama's specific-vague proposal will gain any traction. Defense Secretary Robert Gates who has pushed for Missile Defense almost obsessively to the point of recklessness, has also suggested a joint Russian-American radar operation in the Czech Republic. However, withstanding the Russian invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968 and an occupation which continued until 1990, Czechs vehemently oppose Russian troops in their country.
President Medvedev responded today by issuing a statement commenting that Russia will help fight the terror threat from Iran, but cautioned that "there are no concrete iniciatives" yet offered in reducing the supposed Iranian threat. Medvedev noted that the secret form of the bargain-ultimatum is "not productive".
Iran and the United States have had strangled relations since the CIA overthrew the democratically elected government of Iran by assassinating President Mossadeq and installing the Shah as military dictator in 1953. There has been no formal diplomatic ties between the two nations since the 444 U.S. embassy hostage seige in Tehran in 1979.

Clinton: Mission to Destroy
The United States Senate confirmed Hillary Clinton's nomination as the new Secretary of State yesterday. Upon her confirmation, she defiantly uttered that "all options are still on the table" in regard to disarming an ever nuclear-powerede Iran. A top National Intelligence Estimate report by the Bush administration in November 2007 concluded that Iran ended its nuclear weapons program in 2003 in the face of pressure from Washington. Yet, Hillary in her new executive post yearns for a war on Iran and openly shrieks the war whoop to the delight of congratulatory cheers heaped upon her by the elite Senate and most of all, the Press.
In April of 2008 in a nationally televised interview with ABC, Clinton vowed that if Iran attacked Israel, the United States in turn "would totally obliterate" Iran.
Indeed, diplomatic comments from America's top diplomat.
But while Tehran's possession of a peaceful nuclear power program may be "unacceptable", Clinton has no qualms about the nuclear weapon capabilities of Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Israel and North Korea.
The imperial hypocrisy is seen with all of its stupidity at face value. The Madame of State is smiply playing a bigger, more grandiose version of her childhood doll games. At least it seems so to her.
Meanwhile, opponents of Clinton have accused her of a "pay to play" scandal in that her husband's foundation, the William J. Clinton Foundation is accepting large sums of money as donations in order for foreign governments to curry favor and buy out the U.S. Secretary of State as a mouthpiece. Noted donations to the William J. Clinton Foundation include $25,000,000 from Saudi Arabia, $1,000,000 from the Confederation of Indian Industry and $25,000 from the infamous private military group, Blackwater, whose employees now face criminal charges for a shooting rampage on civilians in Baghdad which killed 17 last autumn in Iraq.
In addition, Mrs. Clinton has unconstitutionally been oathed into office, Article One, Section Six of the U.S. Constitution provides that,
"No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been increased during such time; and no Person holding any Office under the United States, shall be a Member of either House during his Continuance in Office."
On January 4th 2008, an executive order by President Bush increased the pay of the Secretary of State. Hillary Clinton presided in the United States Senate at that time. This order thus makes her ineligible for the position.
